Daily Music Cookin' With BIKINI MACHINE

Since five years BIKINI MACHINE play a mixture of electro, soul and 60’s rock. After their debut album „An Introduction to Bikii Machine“, which was released in 2003 and composed thanks to both vintage samples and new-school machines, they turned to more simple structures. In October 2005, this led them to release a tribute album to the great Jacques Dutronc, which also was their first German release. To rework on these 60’s perls gave them the simple wish to write songs all together for the new album „Daily Music Cookin’“. The result: 12 songs as dynamic as the gigs of this super live band.
Their unique mixture of 60’s-guitar-electro-rock completes the production by Ian Caple, who also did albums for e.g. Tricky or Tindersticks.

Le Jerk Du Gastronome is a good résumé of the album. Written in the style of the French author Boris Vian, distortet guitars meet electronical gimmicks and a stylish voice. La Pharmacie Anglaise reminds of Gainsbourg, while Downtown Jail seems to be a diabolic invitation. Two instrumentals strenghten the album: Cougar 73 makes you feel like beeing in a roadmovie, just before the Happy End of Destinazione Rocapina.

Machines make Summer Kingdom Explode! Voodoo attends to the wha wha with a strong result. The Pawn seems to be witten by André Williams on Acid in the studios of Fortune Records. BIKINI MACHNE keep moving beyond their influences and destroy all clichés. Whatever style or instrument they play - how BIKINI MACHINE play, is very efficient! From the Soul melodies of It’s All Up and Let’s Grab to the extremely current Garage-Punk-Hymns of Optimistic Breakdown or Shake. Absolutely delicious!
